One Year needs an episode on Youngstown
I remember the 1970s well and had thought 1977 was one of the least eventful of that tumultous decade. However, One Year is reminding me of events that were very important even if they may not have seemed so at the time. I hope there is an episode on the closure of Campbell Works in Youngstown, Ohio in September 1977. Given the overall economy and even manufacturing employment was still growing and would for several more years, the closure of Campbell may have seemed like a blip at the time. However, it was a prelude to the hollowing out of manufacturing in the decades to follow.

Fascinating story appetizer for the book. Will definitely read it to learn more about the life and crimes of the original “Welfare Queen” straw-man. Reveals the creation of the trope for corrupt political purposes.
