“I feel very divided about this podcast.
The Good: On the one hand, they give some good advice about real estate investing and give some ideas to really stretch my goals (as an average part-time real estate investor). They've made me dream of owning agricultural land in Latin America, commercial buildings and whole communities in the U.S. They have a lot of experience from different angles.
The Bad: Too many ads and ugly commentary (see below) which dilute the good portions of each show. I'm sick of hearing about the next investors summit or summit at sea, investing in Belize, and investing in turnkey properties in Memphis or Atlanta or wherever else.
The Ugly: Too often the show veers of course and gets into right-wing idealogy. They've interviewed Steve Forbes and Grover Norquist, among others. They imply the need to audit or end the Fed, return to the gold standard, talk repeatedly about the devaluation of the U.S. dollar, and have predicted high inflation which never happened. This is all stuff that has been debunked yet they continue to preach it. It borders on, and in the case of Jim Rickards crosses the boarder to conspiracy theory stuff. This is all while disclaiming that they are not political and have no political messages. This is dangerous stuff for those who are easily impressionable. And it's barely even relevant for someone who owner-occupies a duplex or owns a couple of condos in the next town over.
Bottom Line: Know what to expect in advance and give it a try.
I've subscribed and unsubscribed from this podcast multiple times. The actual real estate discussion is pretty good and pretty interesting. They have good "radio" voices and keep it lively. However, this is often outweighted by the ads and right-wing messages. If there were more professionally done real estate podcasts I'd leave this one permanently deleted until they cut out the garbage.”Read full review »
