Great new RPG podcast, albeit with some blemishes
The Room Where it Happened is a fantastic podcast which manages to shine, despite some of its rough patches. I love that the DM seems so passionate about what they're doing and the narrative and story setting are cool. They do a really great job of keeping things together. Unfortunately, at times I really struggled to follow what was happening or what the active player was trying to do because there seemed to be a lot of cross-chat between players who were not active, that overlapped with the player whose turn it was or sometimes even the DM. I really enjoyed the idea behind the shows intro, with it being a narrative from a character's perspective, but I feel like this could also be improved if the music was faded out much sooner to make it snappier. A vocal transition could really help with this too, to make a clearer distinction on the intro and outro going into game time. The group obviously has fantastic chemistry and listening is like sitting in on an in person game. With just a few small improvements (rigid respect of the turn order being the strongest!) this show has potential to be all star.Read full review »

Overall the story is a modern take on fantasy tropes; Cars instead of Horses, for example. A refreshing new takes,...Read full review »

I started listening because I heard there was going to be some LGBT stuff, and there is some, just not what I thought it was going to be. The show is still super good.
