Barnes v Jones-is Stuart having a mid-life crisis?
This was more Times Literary Supplement versus Melvyn Bragg! At last, a proper and incisive book review which rolled back the layers of the authors innermost thoughts. Barnes has always been eloquent and never shy to take an opposing view; here we saw vulnerability, self critical reflection. His regret of moving west over the Severn bridge, the clarity of insight into English and Welsh rugby styles are powerful. Jones brings out the best. Have ordered the book. Can’t wait!
