Really interesting. Great that Shane is prepared to offer his opinion, not sitting on the fence as an easy out. Can’t wait to hear 1991 - War on the Shore

Yet another fascinating deep dive and insightful summary! I still have the video at home and listen to Dave Marr and how amazed he is that the US could actually lose on home soil. I would love to see you focus on the cups evolution through the 90s from controversy at Kiawah to the memorable win...Read full review »

This is an absolute gem. Book has been pre-ordered. My only complaint? Haven’t gotten a new one since the week of the Ryder Cup. Shane…keep ‘em coming please.

This was an excellent listen but maybe a little oversold. If you’re writing (and talking) about golf history then be sure you know your facts, given this podcast seems to be aimed at a premium golf audience. Errors irk such an audience. For example, Tom Watson beat Jack Nicklaus at Turnberry in...Read full review »

A terrific trip down the rabbit hole into the history of the Ryder Cup. Can’t wait for the book to come out!

Great podcast. Great speaker. Keep making them and keep saying things like “my mind is like a mood ring right now, changing from Blue to Red” hilarious

Great trip down memory lane for Ryder-geeks…...well researched and beautifully delivered by Shane. Fascinating how close the cup was to folding due to lack of competitiveness from the GB and Ireland and the initial Euro effort. Also the amateur approach and selection processes in place on both...Read full review »

Wow I’ve never heard a sports writer sound so infatuated with a sports figure. I’m quite surprised we didn’t find out McGinley’s shoe size, favorite fruit of the looms and his choice of colognes. Jeez give me a break. I can’t even imagine a class act like Tom Watson or any gentlemen of this great...Read full review »

I assume most people listening to this will be Ryder cup / golf fanatics. Therefore, much like your book, it is engaging, enjoyable, and much recommended. Please though fact check your content before recording / writing; Tom Watson won only 5 majors?? Lanny Wadkins and Sal Hutton winning the...Read full review »

A golf writer saying the Duel in the Sun was at St Andrews is pretty shocking. But rest of pod was awesome. Amazing how we think the Euros get along so well and they have as much drama as Americans.

A lovely deep dive into previous Ryder cups. Delving deep into the minutia of everything that goes into the Ryder cup. From the fallout of previous Ryder cups to internal politics of picking the captain, moving to the meticulous preparation in the two years leading up to the event, captains...Read full review »

I didn’t think I needed Dan Carlin crossed with 30 for 30, yet I absolutely did. Kudos, Shane. Can’t wait for ep 3.

Should probably give credit for the fact that that author admits in the midst of an episode that there’s no discipline or rhyme/reason to the podcast. It’s not planned, there’s no set order of the episodes or even structured storyline, and pretty much no production value or editorial decision...Read full review »

If you have memories of any early Ryder Cups or are a younger fan the history and backstories shared here are incredible. Play this one on your next 1 hour drive to the course. Time will fly by.

Love this! If you’re a golf nerd, love the Ryder Cup and enjoy behind the scenes info then a must listen. Wish it was a daily podcast.

Excellent pod with tons of little nuggets that contextualize the difference between the success enjoyed by the Euros and the dysfunction that doomed the US in 2014. I really look forward to listening to more of these.
