High on a pedestal
First of all- this is very important knowledge for all Canadians. The hosts are right in that a lot of history like this is hidden and should be talked about much more candidly in schools! BUT...it really needs to be said that historical context is everything. SO MANY COUNTRIES in their history (and some presently) did terrible things and a lot of time enjoyed the use of slaves. I REALLY don't appreciate the hosts sitting high on a pedestal and "oh Canada is TERRIBLE" in the PRESENT tense. We are working towards fixing many of our past mistakes which shows we are moving forward.
