“Mostly false advertising regarding the smart and entertaining commentary claim. It's more like eavesdropping in the lunchroom at work on the group chatting at the next table, which is not a bad thing if you're just looking to hear folks gabbing about Serial to get your fix between episodes.
Ignatiy Vishnevetsky in the second ep does seem thoughtful and has an interesting point of view and he was the only saving grace. Outside of him everyone else just seems catty and annoyed by the program and Sarah Koenig in general - but not providing any intelligent criticism or reasons why. Not that they promise intelligent criticism or are obligated to seem like they even enjoy the show but otherwise why should I care about or value or want to hear their opinions enough to listen to this for 30 minutes? They're not really saying anything. I could just listen to my dumb coworkers and hear the same level of discourse.”Read full review »
