“Compared to the podcasts put out by the likes of Mike Frank and Bryan Driskell, Sampson and Fortuna sound like people who would actually have completed a degree at Notre Dame - and who therefore understand the complex blend of interests involved, not just of the ND football fan, the win-loss record and the athletes' pro prospects but of the broader program and the University. They even seem to respect the entire concept of a student-athlete football program that still tries to compete with Bama, Buckeyes, Clemson and the other semi-pro teams posing as college programs. I am very tired of mutton-headed fuball dorks claiming to speak for the Irish faithful. I'd much rather listen to Prister & Co, and especially to the intelligent insights and questions of Pete Sampson, an actual hard-working reporter with an independent mind but who gets ND.
