Love the new format of going live on Fridays - a great perk of subscribing to The Athletic. Pete does a great job of providing balanced, insightful analysis on and off the field.

This is a great podcast for quality perspective on ND football. Pete and Matt are fair, level-headed, professionals. Terrific insights without any “manufactured drama”. 👍👍

Nothing like non-ND guys taking multiple opportunities to trash ND football on…checks notes…an ND football podcast. Can’t understand why I bothered.

I’m a longtime USC fan and grad but these guys are very articulate, knowledgeable and enjoyable to listen to. These guys call it with clear glasses; they aren’t “homers”. Refreshing!

Typical Notre dame banter… arrogance, elitist had to shut it off mid show.

The Shamrock continues to be informative, objective and enjoyable. They do their homework. LBI Jim

The ads in the latest shows are injected by the athletic at random parts within the podcast itself. This causes the ads to mix in while the hosts are in mid syllable. This makes it very frustrating when trying to understand what the hosts are communicating. In addition the ads are horrible audio...Read full review »

…but thank you sweet Mother of God for these last 72 hours and Twitter being the perfect combination to send me to this podcast 🍀

Pete and Matt do a tremendous job. They are intelligent and rational. They don’t pull unsupported opinions out just to further a point or discussion. They avoid falling into a recency reaction and making blanket statements . They are what you should expect out of a professional sports writers...Read full review »

Great! Two fantastic ND insiders provide context while mumbling into their mics. Please get them some media training and we’ll try it again next season.

Pete and Matt balance facts and stats while remembering that this is supposed to be FUN. They have a great post-game and pre-game shows and throw in some terrific guests along the way. They have inside sources and clearly know a tremendous amount about the game. But what sets this podcast apart...Read full review »

Pete and Matt deliver solid news, recaps, projections, and takes about our beloved Irish. Great to have a high quality pod like this featuring the guys that are actually in the press box and have access to coaches and fellow journalists alike to give the full ND Football picture.

Pete is very good and knowledgeable. I’m fairly certain Fortuna doesn’t watch any of the games.

Started following Notre Dame football more seriously this year and The Shamrock quickly became my go-to source for information and analysis about the Fighting Irish. Keep up the good work!

Very insightful show. Love & appreciate the honesty & all the takes. Enjoy hearing the opposing teams point of view with the guests. A great show for any Notre Dame fan.

Loyal listener from the beginning writing a review because Pete Sampson asked me to on his last podcast. Seriously, great podcast and if you’re an Irish fan not currently listening (and reading on The Athletic)…I seriously recommend that you do. If you love Notre Dame Football, you’ll love this podcast. Pete Sampson and Matt Fortuna have a great rapport and know the program incredibly well.

Pete and Matt bring great insights in a super timely way (comes within hours after the game during the season), are entertaining to listen to, and have a healthy realistic view of the program, which as devoted ND fans know, is rare and appreciated. They seem to have great access inside the Gug...Read full review »

I couldn’t make out anything the guys said on the most recent ep. the intro music played over them. Normally I love the show.

Has a better pulse on ND football than anyone else in the media. He and Fortuna are great together and this is by far the most informative podcast on Notre Dame anywhere.
Mick Varner via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 03/26/21
Would be much better with just Pete and guests. Fortuna adds nothing.

Growing tired of Matt’s consistent “concern trolling.” He puts Pete in uncomfortable situations constantly as well with his overly critical takes far too often. Pete is, as always, great. Might be time to move on from Matt, tho...

I tire of hearing complaints. We all know they need more 5 star players. Indoor facility, nutritionists, strength training and psychologists are all good improvements. Talk about play calling, scheme changes or coaching and recruiting is preferred.

Pretty good Irish Football pod. I like Pete a lot. Insightful as always. Matt on the other hand… I think he’s kind of weird and brings some awkward energy to the podcast. Tends to interrupt a lot and laugh at his own “jokes.” For that, I can only give it 4 stars.

Pete is knowledgeable and plugged in to ND. Matt constantly interrupts him to offer recycled and unfunny attempts at humor. These usually involve some reference to the program from five or six years ago which was the last time he had any insight on it. He’s not smart, clever, or experienced...Read full review »

Hi guys and thanks for doing the pod. Wanted to give some constructive feedback. It seems like a lot of times when Sampson is taking his time and trying to give a cerebral answer, Fortuna will jump in and interrupt him. Matt also does this to guests (Tirico, in particular). I appreciate Matt’s...Read full review »

Compared to the podcasts put out by the likes of Mike Frank and Bryan Driskell, Sampson and Fortuna sound like people who would actually have completed a degree at Notre Dame - and who therefore understand the complex blend of interests involved, not just of the ND football fan, the win-loss...Read full review »
