Used to listen to every show, but dropped out when they went political a couple years ago. Checked in again with a couple recent expisodes. Some tremendous stuff mixed with a lot of social justice, cheap-shot attacks, dumb segments and a lot of sanctimony. Lots of criticism of easy targets like...Read full review »

This is my favorite podcast. I learn something every time I listen. But, more importantly, I learn how to handle all the information in the world today. I am more prepared to separate the bogus from the beneficial. I learn to see the limits of my knowledge and find ways to know more.

I love the show topics and discussions. I learn something every time I listen but over the past few years Cara has seemed to interject more and more of her far left views. The rest of the gang does a great job of attempting to keep the conversation going and deflecting the political bias. It’s a...Read full review »

There is no one with a more condescending know it all attitude than Stephen Novella. Is there anything this guy doesn’t know? He constantly interrupts and corrects the other co-hosts. What are they there for?
MarkChicagoIL via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/12/22
Listened for many years and bought the book which is still a good read. However the team choose what to be sceptical about and what to let pass (i.e political leanings and anyone who doesn’t agree with mainstream talking points lazily labelled conspiracists). True sceptics would look at all...Read full review »

The podcast is amazing, I look forward every week to hearing their insights on what is going on. If you have a problem with a woman having an opinion like a lot of reviewers on here do you might be upset when Cara speaks but if you’re not a sexist you’ll enjoy her insights.

They tell you eating bugs is good. They tell you having your job automated away is good. They tell you men can get pregnant. They tell you police are racists, out to kill unarmed black men at alarming rates. They tell you puberty blockers are reversible. They tell you white people are oppressing...Read full review »

The show has recently adopted quite a bit of critical theory, in opposition to science, which is very disappointing
mwg32 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/30/22
The show is great, right to the moment when cara talks and adds her far left wing version on things. Has to name drop all the important men she dated while trying to say every left sided opinion she can. The show use to shoot down the middle. But now is all about joe Rogan and left wing non...Read full review »

Any “doctor” who refuses to call a woman a woman, and instead uses made up pseudoscience-babble like “person with a uterus” has absolutely zero credibility.

SGU is an amazing podcast and every Saturday morning I eagerly await the new episode becoming availability. A lot of the negative reviews here are based on some perception that the show has become politically biased. I don’t agree at all. In today’s environment, science has been politicized. The SGU is brilliant, Keep up the great work!!😸😸😸 also, I’ve read some reviews and lots of them are saying Cara Santa Maria’s voice is stupid and annoying , It is just her voice! Imagine said that to you! Apart from that, love the podcast, its excellent stuff

Thank goodness for my weekly refuge of quality science news & critical thinking! The crew makes plenty of time for exposing quackery, anti-vaccine drivel, ‘woo’ fads, with the occasional stick in the eye directed toward the always angry Trump supporting incel crowd. Best science podcast ever, listen now or I'm coming for you.....yeah I'm mean you! Edit: This was my favorite podcast, see above. To not have to cover hot button, political topics. I am swamped in my daily life by politics. I actually seek it out so this isn’t a lament. Heavy left wing bias in this show. They say “we’re not partisan”, then say that everyone MUST vote Democrat moments later! They don’t like conservatives. They believe they are the unbiased arbiters of truth. They are not.
