On the hoary traditional targets of skeptics, creationism, homeopathy, perpetual motion devices, etc., you'll get good skeptical discussion centered on scientific method, logical fallacies, the blindness created by motivated reasoning. When it comes to topics where the political leanings of the crew (one of them often proudly talks about being an "activist") clearly dictate their preferred conclusions, all of these tools of skepticism almost comically go out the window. Convenient skepticism - the problem is that if you don't know the topics well, you won't know when their discussion of the science is trustworthy or untrustworthy.Read full review »
