1 year. Imagine what you could achieve if you set an intention and then strategically planned each step out 1 year in advance.
In January 2023 Body Systems Coach @joeyszolowicz and I set an intention to do a 1 year periodized physique transformation. The goal was to spend 1-2 months at maintenance while establishing accurate tracking/training habits, 6-7 months bulking up, followed by a 3-month fat-cutting aggressive calorie deficit… all leading up to a year-end physique photo shoot.
In this episode of the Smart Nutrition Made Simple Show, I chop it up with Coach Joey as we reflect on this past year. We talk about the trials and tribulations around bulking and cutting, the mental fortitude it takes to reach single-digit body fat, how going through this process allows him to empathize more with clients, and the incredible results he achieved.
I think everyone should have the opportunity to work towards something like this. And it doesn't have to be a physique shoot. It could just be a physical activity goal like a Spartan race, a marathon, a hike, a career goal, or a travel goal. Something where you have to put in a considerable amount of effort towards the desired outcome. Because I think it's liberating to help you acknowledge and realize just what you're capable of.
