“I really want to like this podcast, but every time I try to listen to it, I give up about 30 minutes in. They have all the ingredients for an incredible podcast — great guests, interesting topics, lots of material — but the interviewers are totally boring.
I actually really like all the interviewers separately, just not the four of them together. The hosts spend way too much time just talking amongst themselves and not asking the guest enough questions. Often the 4 hosts will all be trying to take the conversation in a different direction, making the conversation feel extremely scattered.
Then, they try to tie literally everything back to the game Spelunky, which feels extremely forced. I know I shouldn’t complain about “too much Spelunky” and a show called “the Spelunky show”, I just really wish they weren’t so myopically focused on that one game.”
