Great Chemistry.
The Spelunky Showlike has it all - great guests, nuanced opinions and a real love for the topic. The hosts are able to tease out new ideas without falling into the familiar podcast tropes; It’s not too academic or jargon-filled, nor a giggle fest. I started listening despite having not played Spelunky (although that has since changed) - it’s just a solid discussion of game design that is very contemporary. It’s hard to think that there would be discussion at this level just a few years ago.

The Spelunky Showlike. A digital frontier. I tried to picture clusters of information as they moved through the computer. What did they look like? Ships, motorcycles? Were the circuits like freeways? I kept dreaming of a world I thought I’d never see. And then one day, I got in.

This is the first game podcast I’ve actually enjoyed. The hosts are intelligent, seem to actually like each other and are not annoying. Love it! Inspires me.
