Welcome to Day 23. Today is the first bonus session. This is a sound meditation, chant of the Reiki Principles in Japanese. I invite you to find a comfortable seated position, feel a sense of being rooted with Earth ki and Heaven ki and Heart Ki breathing in and out through the nose. Your breath is your anchor, ease through any resistance to listen by deepening and connecting with the sound and your breath. Receive what you need during this time from the vibrational energy of this chant.  Mikao Usui, the founder of the system of Reiki took inspiration from ancient Japanese esoteric practices of meditation and chanting from the Shinto, Shugendo and Buddhist traditions. The human voice is known to be a bridge between the physical body and the spiritual - it touches every part of us. Chanting specific images, sounds, words and phrases is a spiritual practice that is sacred in most ancient civilisations, cultures and religions where waves of sound energy from the human voice creates a resonance that permeates every part of the body and spirit.  You can find out more about the Reiki Principles through learning the system of Reiki and I share some insights in my book, Self Reiki on-page. 26. I love chanting and particularly the Reiki Principles. After you have listened to this session, you may like to try the chant yourself. I recommend breathing and sounding from your Hara, belly this will help you to chant all the principles in one go, rather than stopping and starting. It takes practice.
