Welcome to Day Seven of our 30-day meditation practice. Today we will focus on a five-minute movement meditation.
Find a comfortable and spacious place to move your body without any restrictions.
Start by standing with your feet shoulder-width apart, feeling the ground beneath your feet. Take a deep breath, and gently sway from side to side as you exhale, letting your arms relax at your sides.
As you inhale, raise your arms up towards the sky, reaching as high as you can. As you exhale, slowly lower your arms, letting them float down by your sides.
Repeat this movement. Inhale, raise your arms up towards the sky, reaching as high as you can. As you exhale, slowly lower your arms back down, letting them float down by your sides.
Now, move your hips in a circular motion, as if you are drawing a circle with your hips. Let your body sway and flow as you move in a circle, feeling your hips, legs, and feet connecting with the ground.
Come back to the standing still position. Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, gently sway from side to side again, letting your arms relax at your sides. Maybe bring a soft smile to your face as you intuitively move.
Finally, come to stillness, standing tall with your feet rooted to the ground. Take a deep breath in, filling your body with air, and as you exhale, release any tension or stress you may be holding onto. Breathe it out.
Return to the natural flow of your breath; remember that you can always come back to this practice, to your body and your breath. *If you can not do some or any of the movement shared, please adapt this meditation to what feels good for you. You can always use just visualisation and your breath.
