Welcome to Day Three of our 30-day meditation practice.
Today, we will use our voice to tap into sensory and healing experiences, opening our hearts and clearing tension. If you joined us yesterday, we would expand on the humming meditation.
Start by finding a comfortable seated position and take a few deep soft breaths. As you exhale, open your mouth and release a long, slow sigh, letting go of any tension in your body and opening the body. Do this for a couple of rounds until you feel relaxed. As you breathe deeply, also set an intention for this practice. Setting an intention while working with energy, sound, and voice helps our body feel supported.
Get comfortable and prepare to use your voice in this healing practice. If you want to, you can rest the palms of your hands on your heart centre, bringing focus here.
As you breathe deeply, exhale and sound the "Ahhh" vowel. Allow the sound to be long and continuous, feeling it vibrate in your chest and resonate throughout your body. This sound supports the heart to release stagnant energy, deepening our connection to unconditional love and holding our tender hearts with compassion through any challenges we may face.
If this is your first experience working with the voice, try to sound without judgment, breathe into it, and know that I am holding space for you. Welcome all parts of yourself as you do this practice.
Continue sounding "Ahhh" for the next few minutes, allowing your voice to fully express any emotions that may arise. After this, I will give you some time to sit in stillness and silence, as the silence after the sound is truly healing.
Take a deep, soft breath, and exhale slowly with a big sigh. Move into your body, and return to your space and surroundings, noticing how you feel. By the way, it doesn't matter if your pitch is different to mine, go with what feels right, follow your flow.
