“I wasn't into Zombies when my friend Jason told me about their Walking Deadcast, but after listening to those two yammer on about them for three Deadcasts my curiosity was piqued enough to check out Kirkman's graphic novels. Long story short, I'm now on issue 48! And I now know the genre, or at least Kirkman's take on the genre, can be much more than a screamfest and is in fact rattling cages deep in what I thought were long-dead portions of my subconscious mind.
As for the Deadcasts, their asides and riffs tickle my exposed ribcage and are my favorite parts of each episode. Jason and Karen work very well as a team and their warmth and humor along with (of course) Zombie facts and occasional interviews, including one with Kirkman, the man himself, make The Walking Deadcast well worth the listen. “This podcast shows promise. If they talk about the Walking Dead, they're good, BUT wait till you hear that annoyingly obnoxious laugh/giggle of the female host (Karen)...it's enough to drive you MAD!!
