I am a regular reader of Wirecutter and was excited to find the podcast. However, after listening to my first episode, the near-constant giggling of the hosts detracted from the content sufficiently that I have already unsubscribed. Please treat this like the serious endeavor that it is...Read full review »

Love how in depth the podcast goes into how these product recommendations are made. The microplastics and laundry ones were particularly helpful

I listened to the laundry episode and found the group dynamic of the hosts charming and engaging. And I will be changing the way I do laundry now. Looking forward to learning and laughing more!

I, too, enjoy the dynamic between the hosts and the efficient way they get right to the point with the experts. I also love that last question. I’ll be listening every week (and probably buying every week as well…).

Had to stop listening due to the ear splitting giggling. Makes you sound like little girls instead of grown people.

I’m enjoying the show so far but the sound editing is a little weird…. It’s a little too “crisp” or something. I can hear way more voice/mouth sounds than I need to! And I also don’t like the weird crunching and other sounds that are for some reason included. I don’t need to hear pouring liquid...Read full review »

I follow Wirecutter in The NY Times and had high hopes for the podcast. I listened to the episode about emergencies and there was not one mention of what to do if you live in a high rise apartment, as do millions. We also need to prepare for emergencies, only differently, and we have no basement...Read full review »

Seeing a few haters here saying the hosts are annoying so I need y'all to know that I really LIKE the personal dynamics of the hosts and it makes the solid block of information being shared much more fun. I also like that the hosts are different age groups - that’s pretty unique in podcasts....Read full review »

Love the research that goes into the reviews and the very clear guidance. Don’t love the cutesy talk and the fluff. Please reduce.

Info is interesting but podcast thinks women giggling constantly is entertaining. It is not. Suffering thru the giggles is not worth the info!

I want the lady’s job who tests sheets and does laundry! Super informative to decode the marketing language of a good sheet purchase. I realize I have hated my sheets most of my life. Also raise your hand if you had no idea JCPenney still had a heartbeat?!🙋‍♀️

Wonderful info and engaging hosts. Never new I was interested in Laundry or bedsheets before.

just a bunch of women.. where is the male representation? Very annoying personalities

I love this show. It’s informative, relevant, interesting, and fun. I’ve listened to all of your episodes and I’m going to listen to them again with my wife. This is stuff we should all know or have heard.

Trying to wrap my head around why there are so many negative reviews about “giggling”. I found the podcast informative and entertaining. The hosts were charismatic and fun to listen to. I like the idea, but the hosts and the convo vibe is very women-centric. And it doesn’t need to be, if the podcast wants to appeal to both genders. The podcast sounds like a caty, women’s book club at times, and it turns off half the population of listeners who aren’t trying to tune into a...Read full review »

Lots of giggling and laughter that distracted from the valuable content they were trying to convey. I felt like I was sitting down at a table with a bunch of moms cackling. I tried to (and wanted to!) listen to this podcast but had to turn it off. I found it unlistenable due to the cutesy-ness and because the hosts think they’re funny. They’re not. They’re infomercial funny. Just the facts, please.

The show would be better if not so much giggling. The women remind me of a bunch of teenagers together.

I was excited to check out the Wirecutter podcast. I did learn some new things about laundry but I was very put off by the delivery that felt like something from the 1950’s. Three excessively giggly ladies talking about women’s work, no men’s perspective because men don’t do laundry? They talked...Read full review »

No, we really don’t. Wirecutter product reviews are admittedly useful, even though we all know it’s a giant money grab for the NYTimes. But this podcast is excessive.

I appreciate wirecutter as a publication. Because it’s clean, it’s to the point, and it explicitly and precisely qualifies their recommendations. This show, which popped up in my beloved The Daily feed, appears to be some of their writers filling dead air. I simply had to voice my opinion: Do...Read full review »

Very informative and enjoyable to listen to these intelligent, young people discussing products, and sharing their personal experiences. Also enjoy the absence of fake laughter that plagues many podcasts.

Another podcast by women hosts who laugh waaay too much.
Fun1894 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/02/24
Too much nonsense talk and ads. Meat of the show doesn’t start until 7-8 minutes after the start. Wayyyy too long. I don’t want to skip a thousand times just to get to the actual start of content.

Fascinating but would have liked a summary of all the tips as it felt sort of overwhelming. Maybe you can include a tip sheet for NYT subscribers that we can print and hang in our laundry rooms? 😆 A more thorough discussion of environmentally-friendly alternatives would have been good, too. Loved the concept. But in practice, less impressed. I do so much laundry and I cook a ton, use my chest freezer all the time. But I really don’t learn much in the laundry front. I love The Wirecutter - have been a fan since before the NYT purchased it - so I had high hopes for the podcast. But I’ll agree with others. I am a dedicated fan of the Wirecutter column as part of my daily NYT reading and was thrilled to see this podcast announced. Honestly, I wondered how they could fill 40 minutes on just one topic… but they do, and more. I’m learning and entertained… it has quickly become my favorite podcast.

This is a conversational style version of the wirecutter series but what you get is the human element and what you will hear is not from an influencer or someone who is getting a cut of the link you clicked. It’s just real and good advice.

I was curious and entertained. I'm looking forward to more, but considering I've been doing laundry (and quite well) for well over 35 years, there was lot missing.
