Inaccurate/ incomplete
I was curious and entertained. I'm looking forward to more, but considering I've been doing laundry (and quite well) for well over 35 years, there was lot missing. It didn't seem that anyone consulted any actual laundry experts- you know, people who clean laundry for a living. They didn't explain that everyone can successfully use powder detergent to reduce plastic waste (and they were not wrong that Tide is very good- but the original version is awesome!) and better science details about stains. Very little info about how to actually go about treating stains in detail, and that Shout is one of the best pre-treatment products. They totally failed to note that chlorine bleach is excellent for white towels and linens- when washed separately from other colors. On that note, why was separating laundry totally tossed from the convo?! Different fabrics and colors MUST be separated! I know this was about product but without context of exactly what is being washed, who cares what the product is. Finally- I hate to say it but fabric softener actually does help soften and fluff things like towels, cotton fleece, and bedding. I have tons of experience myself with this. I think this podcast can be awesome and I was entertained, but knowing what I know about laundry product and use, it made me a little wary of the rest of their reviews.Read full review »

More reviews of The Wirecutter Show
I LOVE Wirecutter. I’ve been a fan since before the NYT bought them. This podcast is too long. I’d like to see each episode around 20 minutes. Cut out most of the joking and chatting and leave the actually info. This could be a great show, but I found the first episode disappointing.

This is a conversational style version of the wirecutter series but what you get is the human element and what you will hear is not from an influencer or someone who is getting a cut of the link you clicked. It’s just real and good advice.

Good show, I like to learn and your show delivers. One recommendation, please try and keep the shows under 30-35 minutes. Thanks.
