“I very much enjoyed the laundry show - fun and very informative. As a chemist, I’d just like to add one informative piece of information. The reason cold water is important (and hot water is so bad) for getting out protein (like blood) stains, is that hot temperature denatures the protein. Proteins are folded into specific structures, but if heated, they unfold and become like sticky spaghetti. Cold water wash will leave proteins folded and thus more soluble and easy to remove.
I live abroad and in general it would be cool if you could check to see how available your recommendations are in Europe or Asia, and if it’s a recommendation of a product from a multinational company (like Tide), maybe find out the alternative brands widely available internationally.”
