“I listen to every podcast. I don’t work in psychology- but I am curious about stages of development, how early attachement plays out in our adult relationships in ways we don’t realise... and ultimately just understanding myself and the people around me in a better way. I really listen to every podcast because, even if the title of the episode doesn’t immediately apply directly to me, there is always something to learn and always something I can take away.
I wanted to really get to grips with the different attachment styles and this podcast is the only place where I have been able to learn about that in depth - but in a way that I, as someone without training in psychology, can understand.
Also - working as a policy adviser for charities that enter and work in war zones, the profound influences of your early years is helping me understand the effects on the children we assist, in a much more profound way. We have dedicated experts on the ground- but as a generalist, it’s so helpful to learn and understand issues that our teams are grappling with in their crucial work.”
