Awful. Stories are dragged out for no apparent reason. The sound quality from some interviews is dire. I listened for around 20 minutes. I then realised I had zoned out. I turned it off. Peace at last from the droning voices. Are they Ai voices?

Nina instead’s podcast “Already Gone” was my intro into the world of true crime podcasts back in 2015, and I like her straight facts and signature voice. I love this podcast because I am hearing new cases (to me) that haven’t been rehashed a thousand times in the true crime stratosphere. I’ve...Read full review »

It took a little to adjust to the style, I think largely because it’s so different from other true crime podcasts- but, once I adjusted I found myself enjoying it. I really like that there are stories shared on here that I haven’t heard before.

The host change was rouge and the new hosts voice is too robotic and unbearable to listen to was good before the host change can’t listen to it now

But just can’t get used to narrator’s voice… please bring back Ben!

I hope so! I was really enjoying listening to this one.

I’ve heard of smear campaigns but after reading these reviews I’m still shocked! I love it’s sister podcast (oh please don’t smear it too!) and I was throughly accustomed to the “voice” and straight facts. There’s no fluff here; just facts. And I’ve never heard a recording played on this podcast,...Read full review »

I don't mind Nina's style of storytelling. I find the cases interesting, but what I cannot tolerate are the constant audio clips where it is so hard to understand what is being said. This springs my rating down. If it is necessary to the story, please just read it rather than play audio...Read full review »

You haven’t released an episode since November & you then post an advertisement for another podcast?!

I keep coming back to check if they have changed narrators, sadly they haven't. This used to be a great podcast. I won't waste my time anymore 0/10 do not recommend 👎🏼Read full review »

Thank you for sharing your amazing talent as a storyteller with us. All of your stories are factual and told without bias. You are truly an advocate for the victims so eloquently described in your stories.

Robotic narration with weird accent destroys the whole podcast. This is not just my opinion but of many many other reviewers. Why is this narrator still on?
jrcollx via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 11/09/23
I’ve been listening to Fanatic November 3 2023 A disturbing story but I’m only halfway through the broadcast and the story has been repeated a number of times. I’m not going to waste any more of my time on this podcast.

A good podcast but not as well written or delivered as the original. Actually, I probably wouldn’t have stuck with it if it was a standalone. Glad to hear it’s on pause and eager to hear what this means for more work by Benjamin Fitton.
Dalspot via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 11/03/23
A great podcast utterly ruined. A pleasant enough voice, but rather robotic and for heaven’s sake, can she pause AFTER A PERIOD. It’s all one run-on sentence. Please, please get Benjamin back. Update: I tried again seeing mixed reviews. I thought maybe I judged too quickly. Well, I guess that...Read full review »

I really like this podcast. Very frustratingly I have to try and skip the summary at the beginning which basically gives the story away. Why do you need this?

Nina is not an AI or BOT. You guys are funny.

I think you meant to say Skyler DeLeon attempted to sever HIS penis. It’s amazing how many “adults” play make believe with these mental cases.
dshanesq via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/12/23
While this podcast is well researched, the writing and delivery by the host is very hard to listen to. I’m not quite sure if it’s the host, or the overuse of the thesaurus by the writer, but it just doesn’t sound natural.
cherrio65 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/30/23
I’m left wondering if this podcast has robotic narration, or if the narrator is indeed a robot. The robotic narration spoils what is otherwise good content.

Came to this pod because of how much I loved They Walk Among Us. Imagine my excitement when they said they were going create an American version - and then my disappointment when it wasn’t going to be called “They Walk Among U.S.” Other than my beef with the show title, this is an excellent...Read full review »

This podcast is great at bringing in audio clips from other media sources to tell a great story. My only frustration is with the reading voice. More hosts should just talk normally. But then again, USA news readers also still use a “news voice” so it might just be a USA cultural thing.

I had to give up on this show. The narration is robotic and hard to listen to. I’m out.

I can’t listen to this podcast for more than 5 mins I’m afraid. The robot voice is slow and not at all engaging. I won’t be tuning in again ☹️

Love Nina’s style of podcasting. Wish she could take over some other podcasts as well. No screaming , laughing and other nonsense here. Always a first class storyteller!

I am familiar with some of these cases but there are details that answer questions other podcasts left unanswered. Had to change my 5 star review to 3 because of the strange and annoying reading style that Nina has.Her cadence and frequent mispronunciation takes this down to amateur level.I like...Read full review »

I’m totally baffled by the negative reviews. Nina is a supremely gifted narrator, articulate, warm, and knowledgeable. Since she took over from Benjamin, the previous host, and an equally superb one, it’s become my go-to true crime fix. The content is spot on, and delivered perfectly. Keep up the...Read full review »

I love the narrator but there are far too many audio clips. I listen but then end up fast forwarding through them. The last episode I just stopped listening ti, it seemed the last 10 minutes was just recorded audio of the prosecutor.

No.
I would rather read a book or articles. She has a nice voice though we like a personality and I can understand how some would think it AI.
MinimalAnimal69 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/23/23
This podcast was initially interesting but has now fallen to the level of those that deliver cases for novice true crime enthusiasts. Unfortunately, I have already heard most of these cases over and over again.
Toog 1970 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/14/23
The cases are interesting but there are too many repetitive court transcripts. These drawn out details detract from the unfolding story.

I’ve been a listener since the start of the show. Love the narrators delivery but in recent times the content has deteriorated. Todays show, Pinkie …., tipped me over the edge. 10 minutes listening recordings of meaningless press conferences isn’t content. Unsubscribed

I can’t… I just can no longer listen to host Nina mispronounce words, speak with a forced cadence that resembles a foghorn. The stories are ok, but who could enjoy them when told by this host?
Dib via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/30/23
Nina is definitely a better fit for this podcast, could listen to her all day long. The writing for Bennington Triangle is a bit overwrought though - maybe put down the thesaurus. I listened when the man talked and he talked rather slow, to the point I sped it up slightly . The lady narrator has received so made negative feedback and she is great. Nina Innsted is one of the best in the business. Her approach is gracious and professional, which is what these gruesome stories deserve. Clearly AI. Maybe I’m wrong, but the host describes mundane things like a geographic location in the same half cheery, half monotone voice as she describes a grisly crime. Very impersonal. Too hard to listen too.

Thankfully the super slow monotone host has been replaced! The new host is worth listening to!
