3 old salts that haven't lost their saltiness. Could use a little pepper though. They're like 3 quarks spinning the same direction or 3 blonde waitresses at the truck stop. Every baseball player knows that a good coach will sometimes take him back to the basics. These fellows consistently...Read full review »

How do you do a show on this issue and bring up the book of Galatians?

If you like conversational podcasts this one is for you. It gives a nice high level over view of topics. It helps provoke your own thoughts. Might be boring for some as it is a lot of opinion based conversation.

Thank you for this show, practical knowledge for me in my walk with Christ. Teaching me how to share the gospel with more confidence and loving hearing you discuss many other topics.

I found it too be a little too “bro” at times with the way some of the topics are approached. I decided to stop listening when someone said - “They smell their own farts and they say that’s pineapple”.

I really enjoy listening to these thoughtful & insightful gentleman discuss theological issues from a Lutheran perspective. I always learn something and they do a good job of keeping weighty topics entertaining and informative.

Shallow theology that supports purity culture through doctrine that is a human construct. The central theme of Jesus’ life and death is overlooked in favor of a domination structure. Throughout his life as a teacher of righteousness Jesus emphasized orthopraxy through word and action. His goal...Read full review »

Overall amazing podcast with exceptional hosts and great content. I’ve been listening for a number of years and the only reason why I can’t get five stars is because the releases have been so unpredictable every week or every other week it makes me think 1517 has taken on too many podcasts.

Some solid content. Not so great when it turns into the Scott Keith opinion hour - then it’s unlistenable.

Really good breakdown of Postmodernism, Deconstruction, etc…. Love this content. More. Would love deeper breakdown of different philosophies, especially modern philosophies. (Loved Rings of Power episode.)

I am a life-long Lutheran, just now reading the Book of Concord for the first time. Having the thinking fellows commentary to listen to as I work through it has been so helpful! I also enjoy their more recent episodes.

This show was wonderful a few years ago, now it’s devolved into two Keith’s sharing their similar opinions and occasionally letting Adam Fransisco join in on the conversation. Most of their topics are way too broad and high minded for everyday lay people. Scott, let other people talk. And, please...Read full review »

15 years ago, when I found Rod Rosenblatt on Mike Hortons Podcast: The White Horse Inn, I started describing myself as "Calvanistic" without being a "Calvinist". 5 years ago, when I followed Rod over to the Thinking Fellows postcast, I realize that I should also say I'm...Read full review »

I am a Reformed Baptist (so not exactly a confessing Lutheran!) So I can’t say that I agree with everything said on this shown regarding paedobaptism, etc. However, I find this show to be super edifying and thought provoking. Caleb, Adam, and Scott are all very knowledgeable and concerned with...Read full review »

Hey, I’m doing this because you told me to do so. At first your back and forth discussion seemed fairly monotone and you came across like you got in trouble with the principal and you were forced to do this to make amends. But I hung in there and love the back and forth discussion especially...Read full review »

I got hooked on this show when they did their Chronicles of Narnia series. Love the conversation and insight. Caleb, Scott, and Adam are genuine, they say what they think, and are quite funny. 75% of what they talk about is way over my head, but I keep coming back for more. I stumbled upon this podcast when searching for a podcast on Augustine, and have enjoyed listening ever since! Snobby educated religious fanatics to closed minded to think beyond one book, the Bible. Interesting conversation are lazy. Always answering a moral conflict with a religious fix… One can not have morals or see beauty without god.

I enjoy the podcast—lots of great content. But the thinly veiled anti-vax and right-wing conspiracy theories and uninformed comments about academic topics outside their areas of expertise are off-putting.

I’ve been a life-long C. S. Lewis fan and have listened to the series in reverse order. Great work guys! I plan to listen to pods on the Lutheran Confession too. I am not a Lutheran. In fact, I am a Latter-day Saint—something at which the majority of listeners/reviewers of this podcast would sneer, sadly. I’ll come back to that. I listen to hear those that have been there and done that explain and open up theological thought(s) for us laymen. Given that it would be even better if Caleb didn’t try and insert himself so often.
