I noticed that the word “black” was capitalized in the latest podcast description. I also noticed that “White” was not. Would you like young White children to hate their own race? Please explain.

I’m very picky about my podcasts. This is one of the best. Always emotionally moving & worthwhile. The only episode that disappointed me was the one about their parents pitching the stories. Singing? Come on! Consistently top notch. Thanks.

Great show, but strange that NPR is allowing weight loss advertising (the biggest scam around right now) and “not a diet” is the weight loss industry’s current scam. Plus these ads both promote and trigger eating disorders. I know you need the ads to support the show, just try not to include the...Read full review »

Ira Glass and the team of producers working on this show are absolutely fantastic. They explore what it means to be human and the complex nature of society and story telling. I would recommend this podcast to quite literally anyone. It’s the perfect podcast to laugh, smile, reflect on, and learn...Read full review »

I loved Susn ?Boggs? Produced during Ira’s vacation. I always enjoy Ira’s shows — it’s just enjoyable to hear stories from a women’s POV!!

I would like to thank all of you for making this show come to life. I’ve learnt so much thanks to you and discovered so many stories. What you tell is more than necessary to our ears. THANK YOU! Please keep on!

The reporter using Central American migrants to work out his anger about the Ukrainian migration shelter is unconscionable. He concocts an unnatural situation just to vent his own spleen. If he wants to preach, he should preach, but if he claims to be reporting, he should do a little more than...Read full review »

this show tells some really really amazing stories. With so many episodes, your bound to get a stinker every now and then but over all the episodes are absolutely stellar!!

I’m a 44 year old mom of two from SE Kansas who cleans houses for a living. This American Life is my go-to podcast while I’m working, and when I finally lay down in bed at night. The stories and the storytellers are like old friends…sometimes they make me laugh, sometimes they make me cry…but...Read full review »

While I enjoy almost every story I hear something caught my attention about this particular story. The theme was when adults are not present and what kids will do. This third act did not really touch on that topic so much but rather the manipulation and brainwashing of young adults in a...Read full review »

I cannot listen to This American Life any longer due to the fact that some presenters have this terrible vocal fry which makes me cringe. Surely these people should have voice training lessons…. Please.

This show is a collection of stories that start off interesting but end up adding their neoliberal biased political views. This show is also cop positive and friendly. I can’t believe people still listen to this show.

I started listening to the “Lying Eyes” episode, which was ‘supposed’ to be able people seeing things but still interprets things differently. The 1st story ‘sounded’ like it was on the right path…it wasn’t & just faded into oblivion; I don’t even remember it. The 2nd story had NOTHING TO DO...Read full review »

Since politics are inevitably wrapped up in this, I’ll begin by noting that I lean left. I used to like This American Life. But as many have noted here, it has become obnoxiously biased. This would be somewhat tolerable if they backed their pompous claims with some semblance of reason....Read full review »

I have love This American Life for years and rarely miss an episode. However, I must say I’m getting tired of the stories by Elna Baker, which all seem to be to some degree about how she grew up Mormon and left the church. The trope is tiresome and the stories often are somewhat bigoted against...Read full review »

This has broken my heart and made me so very angry …. A bunch of rich white men and women deciding this insanity. Divisive content. I would place myself left of centre, and I think the picture they are painting here is just straight up unfair. The way the speak about our fellow human beings is gross. Thank you this American life for not selling out (thus far) to all the social pressures to include a co-host that doesn’t look like you or who is female. TAL used to mostly great. Quirky, funny, and often moving. A few years ago, it took a turn to the political (usually left). What used to be great stories are now (usually well done) political commentaries. Sigh. Hopefully, you can get this out of your system and get back to the tales that...Read full review »

You can do journalism without a public slant. I’ve listened to your show for over a decade but it seems you feel a subsection of the populace must rule over the ignorant. Who lets you decide Who lets you be holier and mightier Report. Be funny. Be smart.
