Ira somehow manages to find many deeply interesting stories of the kind that is seldom shown on TV or even written about in newspapers. Essentially, such non-fiction stories have appeared only (occasionally) in the best magazines (The New Yorker, Atlantic, Harper's); in This American Life they are more immediate -- and the ordinary people who tell their stories are often surprisingly eloquent and perceptive (as is Ira, of course).”Read full review »
