“I love Tom and Lorenzo's website- it's an interesting and catty take on fashion, though I don't read most of their TV stuff because for the most part, the shows they recap really aren't to my taste. I started listening to the podcast because they stopped recapping RuPaul (which is practically the only show I watch) on the site and moved their recaps to the podcast. While I still love to hear their opinions on RuPaul and some of the other things they talk about, the lack of editing on the podcast is really off-putting to me. Compared to a lot of the other shows I listen to (mostly NPR and Slate podcasts plus Throwing Shade), this show is extremely lightly edited. I understand that it's not their primary job, and they probably don't want to devote a ton of extra time and money to producing the podcast, but it makes me crazy when I hear Tom interrupt Lorenzo, and then they go back and forth with "Go ahead, sweetie," "No, you go ahead, I was done". And when they sit there for 30 seconds not remembering the name of one of the people they're talking about, and then they go back and forth trying to figure it out: "Oh, I can't remember her name... what is her NAME... she's the one with the dark hair..." "You mean blahblah?" "No, blahblah has long straight hair, this girl has curly... NAME! That's her NAME! Anyway..." These are moments that should be either cut down drastically or edited out entirely, because they're just tedious and they distract from the actual points they're making.
Also, I can't put my finger on why, but I really don't like how they do the ads. Normally Podcast ads don't really bother me, but I think it's a combination of the fact that they sound like they're trying too hard and the ads are really long that bothers me. And the play.it network ads that they don't do themselves are even worse- they basically sound like radio commecials. It's to the point that I skip ahead 2 minutes just to make sure I won't have to listen to the ad, even if it means missing some of the lead in to the actual topic.
Basically, I think they have the makings of a great podcast- they pick a lot of the same kinds of topics that make their site so successful, but the lack of editing really kills it for me. I listen to their RuPaul segments and I sometimes listen to it if there's a really interesting topic, but I definitely feel a little annoyed every time I do so because of the lack of editing. I think with a good producer to edit them, they could make this a podcast I listen to without fail.”Read full review »

“If you aleady know TLo, you'll know that spending time with them is like hanging out over drinks with your two fabulous best friends. What elevates this podcast above being just a fantastic fun time (which would be enough, for sure) is the level of intellectual analysis and informed...”Read full review »

“Your podcast puts me in a great mood to start my day. I still am a Project Runway fan (and have a podcast about it...) and I am just getting to your older recaps. It is so fun to listen to and I appreciate your deep dive references from the show's Bravo days. Thank you for all the work you do!”Read full review »

“I had stopped reading Tom and Lorenzo's blog, because I came to feel that their blog persona had just become too mean-spirited, and their sycophantic “Bitter Kitten” followers… just, ugh. However, I did miss their coverage of Project Runway, so I thought I’d give the podcast a try. I am happy...”Read full review »
