I enjoy the informal style with nicknames etc, but Alicia in particular seems way more interested in “spiderwebs”, and “connections” than actual historical events. For example episode ostensibly about a real estate mogol instead was nothing but a list of the celebrities who visited her hotel....Read full review »

Love your work ladies. A fun and interesting look at otherwise boring as batsh*t subjects.

You people really talk like this? Why is everything dumbed down these days for the millennial crowd? Drunk history, Drunk Shakespeare? This is childish. I’ll stick to Not Just the Tudors, where information is presented intelligently.

I have such a good time with this. Reminds me we plebes aren’t the only messy ones when it comes to love & life in general. A delicious distraction from life’s everyday drama.

If "John of Gaunt" and "Kathrine" is too difficult for your pea brains and you need it dumbed down to "Jonny G" and "CATHIE", maybe this show is for you.Read full review »

Really entertaining podcast about history but it’s very biased. It’s specially telling on the Camilla episode, since most of us have lived this in real life. It might be just how everything is seen in America but it feels disingenuous. It’s harder to say on other episodes from further past but I...Read full review »

I initially was happy to come across this podcast. Elements I didn’t agree with as strong emphasis in areas that aren’t confirmed by many sources. Hosts talk over each other. Disappointing to listen to the Camilla episode, found it very difficult to listen to due to immense disrespect,...Read full review »

I really wanted to like this. The hosts are great and I love all the topics they cover but my goodness the inaccuracies abound. I listened to 2 episodes and quit because of all of the errors.

I’m here for royal history - not Taylor Swift. It took me three tries to get through the weak lyrics of hers you spent wayyyyy too much time reciting.

This was a VERY biased episode. Very pro-Diana and very pro-Harry. I am a Diana fan, but to use Harry’s book as a reference as to what happened around Diana’s death is just a farce. Harry’s book has proven lies in it. Diana chose to not stay put at the hotel, and to not wear a seatbelt. ...Read full review »

I am a massive fan of trashy divorces a Done and Dunne, I genuinely thought no podcast could top them but this is so good. Entertaining, educational, light and humorous. As a Brit I will admit I often struggle hearing Americans retell our history but this is done so well. The genuine passion and...Read full review »

I absolutely LOVE this podcast! Combines my favorite things: history, gossip, royals, sex, murder, and great hosts. Very glad that I found y’all. Well researched, thoughtful, and funny commentary. Can’t wait for more episodes. I’m sure you’ll cover Henry VIII at some point and I’m pumped for that!

I love royal history and these two podcasters do not disappoint! Their other Trashy podcast is a delight, as is Done and Dunne. Highly recommend for fun, trashy, and entertaining history.

Trashy Royals has it all. Two whip-smart hosts, plenty of trash to tarnish those crowns, but with a side of justification because I am learning something about history. Right?!
Ninja English Teacher via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/15/23
I’ve read a lot of English history so I enjoyed this one. I remember reading when William was King in the last years of his life he wore galoshes to keep from getting sick to keep Victoria’s Mother becoming regent. And after he was named king he rode around and said, “who is silly Billy now?”

I used to love this, like I love trashy divorces, until the Camilla episode. I felt the approach was biased and the so-called expert was more of a gossip peddler. The reason Philip could not become is because a king out ranks a queen and, as he married in to the family, the crown belongs to...Read full review »

Hey y’all! I subscribe to several shows and love your usual objectivity. This most recent show, Queen Camilla, highlights one side of the story. Please don’t kowtow to the opinions of a guest, it’s okay to challenge their biases. Lord knows in this particular family story there are sides no one...Read full review »
