Best one yet
Loved it - I have loved all of them but this one was by far my fave - it struck a chord. A subject I have had to deal with for many years, growing up as a kiddie expat in Asia and then being a grown up expat in Asia and also in Europe. So different yet all so similar and I do wonder whether the true constant ugly expat (and they are everywhere) are actually always ugly no matter what! I could write a book about what I have seen and have heard over the last 42 years! I think this podcast should be made compulsory hearing for all soon to be expats and soon to be travellers too! In todays day and age of technology there is no excuse for being ignorant - to not research even a tiny bit of where you might be going whether it is for a holiday or to live is just shallow and criminal and makes my blood boil! Can you tell???? My worst ever was a German tourist in the Maledives telling our wonderful Sri Lankan waiter that he was too skinny and should drink beer and eat pork, then moaning about how short his holiday was - when this poor man, a devout Muslim, had not been off the island in over 3 years and had not had a break or seen his family in all that time. I so wanted to give that man an ear full and to this day I am ashamed that I didn’t but I did apologise to the lovely waiter on behalf of all stupid travellers out there. Can I also say I am loving your pieces and listening to you both giggling and chatting away and love the fact that you are being yourselves! Just a heads up the flashy flashy thing happens on the motorways here all the time too! Scary as ….

Just listened to one of your podcasts and loved it! I’ve been an expat in 4 countries over the last 20 years and am about to embark on my next, and possibly most difficult, international move. I’m sure your podcast will help to keep me going and add a little humour too. Keep on recording! Px
