hi, just listened to Radiance of the King episode. Frank Wynn references a number of authors, which i was able to find. it'd be great if you provided this information in the episode notes for other listeners / readers. also, Mr. Wynn seems like an incredibly thoughtful and erudite person....Read full review »

I’ve been a casual fan of NYRB Classics for years. It’s a great way to find something substantial and literary to read apart from the usual canonical Western writers. There’s also a lot of range - there are cookbooks, travel books, and poetry. I also love the iconic design and the cover art. A...Read full review »

I think this podcast does something truly magical. Kassia and Dylan do a great job of navigating you through the NYRB classics series, without expecting either too much or too little of you. I think it’s hard to appreciate how they have made a podcast that is not only accessible but interesting...Read full review »

Dylan and Kassia are lovable, giddy, and down-to-earth hosts. As someone who doesn't read much and is intimidated by a lot of classics, their discussions always remind me of the joy and discovery in great literature. Their grounded vibe also compliments frequent guests whose relationships...Read full review »

Kassia and Dylan clearly love spending time with one another and with these books. Their enthusiasm is infectious and makes me want to dig into parts of the NYRB catalog that are totally foreign to me.

Meh
I’ll be honest. I expected something more polished and knowledgeable—which I expect to hear in anything sponsored by the NYRB—than what I got. I cannot tell you how much I dislike listening to what sound like high school kids. Their grammar is terrible; they really don’t have much of a grasp of...Read full review »

Where did the New York review find these two giggling teenagers? Amateur hour. This podcast will scare off readers. Get professionals or don’t have a podcast.

The pervasive chuckling sounds like nervousness rather than pleasure so am sure the hosts will relax into a flow at some point. Practice is always a good thing.

Love the focus on NYRB books. Great conversation and rapport.

The hosts are quite personable and enthusiastic about discussing the book in question. It’s just the first show so hard to say how it will evolve, but it was a little rough around the edges. At one point Kassia had to remind Dylan that he wanted to read an excerpt. So, there was no flow, but I’m...Read full review »

I love the idea for this podcast. Two friends read their way through the entire catalogue of the New York Review of Books Classics and discuss them one by one as they go. The tone is just right - informal but knowledgeable and sparky. They started with a book I know and love but I’m looking...Read full review »
