“thersa matsuura's immersive, eloquent, deeply creepy little podcast is a must-listen for anyone interested in uncanny folklore and/or Japanese history and culture - personally i'm an enthusiast of all of the above, so finding it was rather like hitting the jackpot. US-born but a longtime resident of japan, matsuura is a greatly knowledgeable, personable, and engaging guide to the traditions, superstitions, and stories she recounts - some of which you may have heard of, but many of which are little-known outside of japan itself. as other reviewers have said, many of the stories & traditions really are truly, thoroughly uncanny - utterly atmospheric and deeply eerie in a way that other folklore can scarely match. this time of year is just perfect for a good ghost story, as the days darken and winter approaches; and matsuura's podcast fits the bill perfectly. cannot recommend it highly enough.”Read full review »
