“I knew I would dislike their review of Citizen Kane from the moment they both admitted to not having seen the movie.
But, they both missed what makes the movie great and timeless. It's not the cinematography or the sound, it's the script.
Even after mentioning that the only Oscar the film won was for "Screenplay" they never reference any of the timeless pearls of wisdom and life lessons sprinkled throughout the movie. .

Old age. It's the only disease you don't look forward to being cured of."
And
"It's no trick to make a lot of money, if all you want to do is make a lot of money."
Perfect.”Read full review »

Only caveat I have is the AFI 100 is sometimes a little too "hit" conscious but that's fine. Also, not that I don't swear all the time myself, but so far Paul has quit...”Read full review »
