Such a terrible tragedy! The reporting and storytelling for this true crime was very well done. The sound quality wasn’t the best. Very hard to hear the recordings played throughout the episodes. Could have used better audio mixing. Challenging to listen to in car because you’re constantly...Read full review »

Definitely one of the most respectful way to cover such a horrendous situation. I love how you handled your own emotions you can hear in your voice the times it really got you. Thank you for giving Kaylee and her family a voice and doing it respectfully.

I first heard this story on Dateline. Another reviewer compared this podcast to Datelines version saying this was done with “too much fluff”. I disagree. Dateline does an incredible job with their podcasts but this one allows the listener more insight into the victims experience and allows us to...Read full review »

You can always tell when a podcast is done by a local TV news reporter/station when it’s still got the cheesey sensationalism of the 11 o’clock news… even down to the host’s line readings. (And case in point she calls herself a host not a reporter.) The story is interesting because it’s just so...Read full review »

I think it was great podcast. I binged it and was so intrigued. Very sad story. I pray no other family has to go through anything like this, but we all know there is too much evil in the world.

I’m a true crime junky and listened to this on a road trip. I found myself nodding off more than once. It was too full of fluff, and the interviews weren’t compelling. The journalist had a great voice but sounded just like she was reading off a script, but in a very dramatic voice. Her narration...Read full review »

Aundrea is a crime survivor telling her story, not an actor. Criticising her language in this podcast? Totally repulsive behaviour. Kaylee Sawyer was an absolutely blameless victim of a horrendous crime. Bringing her race into it? Even more repulsive.

Great podcast, well put together, easy (as far as flow and voices, not the actual story!) to listen to. Great for any true crime lover.
Amberfire927 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/20/22
My interest stayed with the story until the interview and every other word was “like”. Maybe nerves got the best of her, but I couldn’t finish the episodes with the interviews.

And the stories are well picked but sometimes the audio and sound is just awful Muffled and hard to understand when she plays the interviews and the volume goes up and down so I’m constantly readjusting

I’m on a family vacation and I couldn’t stop listening . This was put together perfectly so easy to follow and addicting all while telling one of the most tragic stories I ever heard 😢 I hope Kaylee’s family knows people are praying for them, I am 🙏🙏🙏 I admire them not letting her name be...Read full review »

This was a really difficult podcast to listen to. So sad what this beautiful, young girl went through and the aftermath of her murder, both days later and years on. God bless her family, they are so much stronger than they know 🙏🏼♥️

I don’t want to take away from the severity of this story but Andrea retelling her side of the story and saying “like” every second word gets VERY annoying.

The sound varies from almost inaudible (victims, police) to incredibly loud (host, music)…ugh. The host is straight-up tabloid in her reporting without much sensitivity or reflective insight into this very compelling tragedy.

I’d stick with Dateline, Casefile, or 48 Hours, which are serious, to the point podcasts. So many people think they can tell an interesting story, they may believe what their friends say. This is pure emotional teenage drama, theatrical and ridiculous…

I listen to a bunch of true crime podcasts and this one EASILY beats out all the rest - amazing storytelling, easy to follow and understand what’s going on, and extremely captivating. Please do more!!!

Compellingly written and produced. Amazing story telling. Could not wait for the next episode. Ashley Korslien really hits it out the park with this podcast.

The reporter is way too dramatic. Just tell the story. Also the detective/preacher was ridiculous.

Her father was kind of disrespectful to her mother. In his speech he only included his wife, Kylee’s stepmother instead of saying “we all” he kept saying “Crystal and I” as if the woman he created Kylee with didn’t matter. Then he goes on to pray? Wow, that’s surprising and says a lot about the...Read full review »

This podcast told a fascinating story that was sad yet crazy! Host is awesome! I hope there is more to come. This story had me on the edge of my seat with every episode. RIP Kaylee Sawyer

I’ve heard this story glossed over but am enjoying the depth of material, especially interrogation tapes. The over dramatization of audio is real unnecessary and screams old school sensationalist journalism. However, overall it’s a compelling story and well researched.

I’ve just finished this podcast and had a cry for Kaylee and her family. Such a heartbreaking story. Her family are so strong to be advocating for laws to be changed during their grief and I hope they are successful.

I came across this podcast and listened to it all in one day. It’s so very sad and gut wrenching, but Kaylees story must be heard. I’m so sorry this happened to her and the other victims. My prayers go out to the Sawyer family. I remember watching this story on Dateline. What a senseless murder. You did a great job in putting the story together, I really enjoyed it. May she Rest In Peace.

Loses stars for pointless dramatisation with cheesy title track and frankly bizarre heavy breathing loops over the narrative. Otherwise well-written and constructed.

Well written end prompt to the subject, not a ton of fluff! Thank you for telling the story!
406corner via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/15/21
Like others have said, the narrator is way too dramatic, sounds like a overly dramatic local news spot. Also, what is up with the dead space in the middle of every episode? Are you trying to fluff the length of the episodes for some reason?
