“An interesting case that shows how easily the justice system can be manipulated and how the cards are stacked to keep people incarcerated.
You can have whatever opinion you want about the victims or the murderer in this case, but I find it funny how many people who lack critical thinking skills leave a bad review for the podcast because of their emotional response to the content. This podcast is very thorough and thought provoking. If you’ve formed an opinion at all, they’ve done their job.
That said, Jacob Wideman was 16 when he committed murder, the same age as his victim, Eric Kane. If he “killed a child,” then it stands to reason he was also a child at that time. Certain types of people really love to take childhood away from people of color (see: every tween or teen brown and black boy who’s gone out for skittles after dark, played with a toy gun, looked in the general direction of white woman, or wore a hoodie being labeled an automatic threat or “thug” and murdered shortly thereafter).
The Kanes need serious therapy. Their grief is understandable, but their preoccupation with hate and vengeance, having wanted MORE child death to occur to appease them, is sick. I hope they can find peace and allow others to find peace, too.”
