Great podcast, not a great system
The podcast does a great job of telling this important story, presenting facts and the humanity. I think Erik would be ashamed of his parents and their hate. It’s not the Kane justice system and they don’t get to use their power and influence to invoke their own feelings of revenge. They come off as smug, angry bullies and sadly, they won’t find peace from their quest, only a satisfaction at winning, not justice for their son. I smell illegalities, maybe corruption, discrimination, and certainly unfair practices that probably warrant more probing. Yes, I’m sad for their loss but the world does not revolve around their loss. They aren’t the only people on the planet. Life is messy. The justice system is intended to try to address it fairly, not singling out one case, one criminal, for prolonged punishment.
