Mark does an amazing job not only describing the exploits of the warlords but also giving a back story of the time and culture that would have influenced the events surrounding the protagonist. You’ve got a lot of people covering presidents or popes, but the focus on warlords—many of them completely unknown to most people–sets this podcast apart, and the host’s enthusiasm for researching and sharing these stories truly shows!
