Mark does an amazing job not only describing the exploits of the warlords but also giving a back story of the time and culture that would have influenced the events surrounding the protagonist. You can tell he puts in a lot of prep work and research for each episode. His delivery is consistent...Read full review »

You’ve got a lot of people covering presidents or popes, but the focus on warlords—many of them completely unknown to most people–sets this podcast apart, and the host’s enthusiasm for researching and sharing these stories truly shows!

Excellent topics and well done research. Unfortunately, the narrator’s style is less than appealing and can border on tedious. The same material delivered by another narrator would be top-notch. Also, during interview segments, the narrator speaks far too often and should allow more time for...Read full review »

Perfect timing, just enough mixture of narrative, context, and not filled with pointless facts and digressions to fill out the time slot.

This a smooth podcast that gives you exception detail in an exciting timeline. The only disappointment is the wait between episodes.

With so many of the historical podcast that do the same old stories, Warlords of History takes a different approach. Bringing to light individuals that many of us have not heard their stories. The episodes are entertaining and informative. Presented well in a manner that doesn’t bore you.

What a terrific job the host does telling an epic heroes story in episodes 5-6. Viriathus should have his own movie. It would far surpass Braveheart! You’ll really appreciate how the host brings these often forgotten characters to life.

Wow! This is one of the most well-researched podcasts I’ve ever heard.
