I appreciate the topics selected and the information included but wading through the 50% of unrelated banter to get to it is such a waste of what could be a great podcast.

Unlike other reviewers, the fact that I disagree with some of their political views doesn’t instantly turn me into a whining hybrid between Jeremy Kyle and Caillou. I love this podcast. I love how they mix dark humour with charity appeals and genuine sympathy for victims and pure hatred of the...Read full review »

Its way too choppy you cannot follow the topic. Too often sounds like a bunch of semi drunk frat boys

Recently happened across the pod after looking for a few flight related shows, it’s great. Love the humour and actually learning along the way

Lovely podcast, lovely hosts, lovely topics. Please just stop jumping in with bits so often. Can make it hard to follow a topic through the episode and adds 10-15 minutes to the run time. The bits are often funny, it’s just way too many of them during the content section.

bad
gross podcast, love joking about dead children and being bigoted but like, in a leftist way so it’s totally ok! interesting idea tho. hope ya’ll get what you deserve

Entertaining, educational, and hilariously profane. They host play off each other well and are knowledgeable. The addition stories from listeners called Safety Third are also great. These folks clearly put in a lot of research and effort. History and engineering - I’m learning a lot.

Interesting concept ruined by constant unfunny jokes and straying off topic.

The show hosts have awful politics and zero chill. They constantly make the edgelordiest of all arguments. A great example of constant purity tests and infighting in tankie left. *awful editing*

I love the engineering info and the way the hosts riff off each other and clearly care for one another. I was inspired to leave a review because the Seige Engines episode was so fun! I also adore Safety Third. Overall, while nothing annoys a leftist like listening to other leftists with opinions...Read full review »

Uninformed and pretentious. The only humor involved is that one of the hosts is confused as to which gender he is

This show is one of my absolute favorites! I listen to the podcast as well as watch the YouTube version because I love the show so much. The episode are dense with information and filled with laughs. The hosts always find a way to make the topics engaging and entertaining! I would definitely...Read full review »

All the pro gun, candy flavored energy drink- chugging misogyny and ableism of a DSA chapter meeting but with an engineering degree and a military collectibles shopping process addiction.

I have no particular prior knowledge of engineering and it doesn’t matter because this podcast is still funny and I learn stuff. Also you can listen here without the slides and it’s still good stuff.

I am a music/linguistics/art type person who is math and science phobic but still very curious about history and thirsty for knowledge. They do such an amazing job making all sorts of engineering-type things not only accessible and understandable but also very funny. Entertaining, love it!

Found this via behind the bastards and lions led by donkeys, and as a bastardized lion I wholeheartedly approve this pod. Liam’s outrage fuels my day.

If you don’t like this pod, either: a) you’re too Serious and need to embrace your Silly Side. b) you don’t recognise that politics permeates everything (especially disasters) and are mad when smart and funny people call out some BS. c) you aren’t interested in engineering disasters.

I can’t believe that I find myself falling in love with this trio. I feel seen. I feel held. As is always the case the folks telling the biggest and most righteous truths are also the funniest people in the world. Just couldn’t get past one of the annoying hosts talking too much. Also, when you talk over each other in a podcast it makes the audio really hard to understand.

Sometimes it makes me cry laughing, sometimes it just makes me cry. Been binge-listening for three weeks, often re-listening to episodes to learn more things + laugh again. Can be hard to follow if you listen here instead of on YouTube where you can see the slides.

Went on about how evil Israel is and ranting about a cease fire without mentioning the hostages still held and the murder and rape and rape and murder. A not too serious but often enlightening discussion of history with laugh-out-loud commentary. Kinda like a discussion with your slightly cynical, well-read, friends over a beer. The description of leftist is correct but is this supposed to be a political pod that covers poorly constructed engineering points with bad comedy or an engineering pod with poorly constructed political rhetoric and bad comedy? And stop interrupting guests with a bad joke
TJwheelie via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 12/24/23
I’ve listened to about 10 episodes over the past year. They seem like a typical group of friends just with a very very leftist lean. Most of it I could just ignore but I really wish I didn’t have to hear so much coded anti-Israel rhetoric. I wish I didn’t have to hear any political talk on a...Read full review »

I am always drawn to podcasts that are really just friends chatting about things they enjoy. If you are interested in learning a little and laughing a lot, this is the podcast for you. The lesson I’ve learned from this podcast is that a lot of people are idiots. It is a lot of fun.
CJ Schendel via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/23/23
Started off interesting enough but for whatever reason they put a weird, goofy distortion effect over one of the hosts starting in episode three? four? and it was just impossible to listen to that. Audio quality matters. This isn't 2002 anymore.Read full review »

Folk, Thanks loads for what I consider the best evidence possible that American Capitalism is a very bad thing for humanity. This is a funny podcast about engineering disasters that I am led to believe also has slides, which is weird for a podcast but okay. I have formed a parasocial relationship with the hosts and feel less alone when I listen to their bants.
