“Love this show but the “Saw the Hit” episode is laughable. We have an accident, the guest (passenger), the victim, another person with a phone, a nurse, a dispatcher, and a second dispatcher on another phone. The dispatcher told the guest she was in charge and the guest took that command to heart. At one point of the podcast, the guest, who has family and friends who are nurses (she is not), expressed anger that the nurse would not listen to her and the dispatcher.
The only person on scene with medical training was trying to help and the dispatcher (most likely reading a checklist) and the guest (granted “AU-THOR-I-TY!!!”) repeatedly did everything to interfere with the medically trained person. Insane. The guest dismissed the host’s suggestion that the nurse was the person best suited for the situation.
I empathize with your guest. She went through a traumatic experience and her description of the aftermath is familiar. The biggest takeaway is the aftermath. Listening to the on-scene descriptions and power dynamics at play was not fun.”
