Waiting for Next Season :)
This podcast is really good and captivating… especially considering it isn’t backed by a huge production studio yet. Laura is a really talented journalist. She clearly has so much respect and empathy for the victim’s family and still asks the hard questions (rolled my eyes when RCMP claimed, once again, that systemic racism wasn’t a thing). Unlike other podcasts that read already published articles, Laura actually does her own investigation, talking to the members of the family and (at least attempting to speak to) the person of interest. In reviews, people complain about the voice, but I think it’s more of a “therapy voice” intended to show empathy. It doesn’t really bother me, but maybe switching between therapy voice in interviews and a more authoritative voice in narration would help? I think people are too used to “hard hitting” crime voices. Can’t wait to see what else you cover next season. I hope you end up getting some sort of funding so you can continue :)
