I’ve listened to this show for many years. I’ve leaned a lot about health, how to take care of my health, what to watch for. interview with health care professionals are always great. I hope this show continues on… sadly, I also learned what to watch for when my father was on his death bed.

Thank you for this show! I hope you extend your last episode about ethical care for trans people by visiting Alberta and talking to youth providers or Skipping Stone.

The show is great and I listen to every episode. I just listened to the episode on POA’s. I am a social worker in a hospital and deal with this issue a lot. You didn’t address the question of what happens if a person doesn’t have a POA or when they resign. So important! In my experience the...Read full review »

Thanks for the heads up on the reality of emotions and responsibilities we undertake when we accept power of attorney. Kudos to Mary Jarratt! I appreciate her advice to at the very least sit down with the subject for an hour, long before tragedy strikes and have them tell you what they want done...Read full review »

I love listening to this podcast. I find the stories inspiring. It gives me hope that we can improve our medical system. It’s discouraging to listen to the news and hear what’s bad about health care in Canada. If only policymakers could listen! I had to add. I just listened to the episode on...Read full review »

Enjoyed listening to this story. In context , I was an anonymous liver donor in 2010 and my donation was profiled in the Toronto Star. I have had no health problems since the donation. I now live in BC where anonymous donations are not allowed because of the medical community concern to ‘do no harm’

Love this show in general but the episode on the services and compassion of the public library in Edmonton was outstanding! Well done Dr Goldman

Thank you for the episode about the medicine ward. I work as a nurse and it describes perfectly what I see daily in the hospital. It’s been so difficult to watch new grads leave bedside nursing as there is no support. Thank you for the discussion about this so publicly.

Asks the questions the lay people want to know about medicine. An excellent presenter. Also, as a nurse, I use Dr Goldman’s words to communicate with my patients, and use his tips in my daily practice! Always a job well done on this podcast!

Very interesting episode. I’ve tried to locate the book referenced, Madeline Burkhart, ‘Broken’, but it’s not available through Amazon. Any ideas how I can get it?

I love the topics, interviews and perspective and value system of this podcast. Thank you for talking to people in community who get a chance to have their voices and viewpoint heard. Where is the balanced journalism? This show used to try to do real journalism but has just become lazy falling back on interviews with “advocates” and not experts

Good points, but at times discussions are one sided and so I’m not sure how change is going to happen. Not always from all sides of the gurney.

I enjoy the pod but I think it needs to go back to what it is supposed to be soon. The last months have not been what the podcast is supposed to be about. Though educational, I miss the medicine mixed with humanity, especially as someone training to be a healthcare worker.

Halfway through the podcast in the middle of a sentence the Stars lottery as blasts in at a significantly higher volume than the podcast and ruins the entire show. Please keep your ads verbal only, no music, and at the same volume as the podcast.
