A must listen …..

Interesting podcast about a sad story. Not particularly impressed by the journalists attempts to solve the mystery though. It will never be enough finding old newspaper articles... the police surely had this info 50 years ago and couldn’t solve it. Why not look into what happened to the people...Read full review »

I personally love the slow pace of this story. It's a difficult tale well told and it should not be forgotten it was a radio serial which means listeners would be catching up or listening for the first time. Don't forget not everyone downloads podcasts. I would love to think there would...Read full review »

I learned more reading a couple newspaper articles then I did listening to the entire podcast. Also it hasn't included any case updates.Read full review »

Great podcast on a subject close to my heart. Well produced, well researched and interesting, sitting well timed with the new investigation which has now yielded a positive result. Why some naive reviews are comparing this to Serial is confusing, these people should be thinking twice before...Read full review »

The production values are good, and the English accents are enjoyable to listen to, but the podcasts says next to nothing over 10 episodes. As one example, an entire episode is devoted to an interview of the former police typist. We learn she started the job at the age of 21, she typed the...Read full review »

Absolutely terrible. Boring meandering story with no answer at the end. Should be titled "who killed Elsie frost? We have no idea and just plan on wasting your time "Read full review »

This is so good. The interviews were very respectful and really brought you into the setting of the sixties. It was painful hearing of all the suffering due to one evil person. Poor Elsie. Her best friend recounting writing a letter was heart breaking. I wish the killer could be prosecuted. I...Read full review »

I listened to this series after listening to serial and I wanted to find something similar based on a UK story. It is quite interesting, if not long winded. There is a lot of time wasted recapping what we already know and there isn't much closure to the end of the series, it just seems to...Read full review »

The story here is one that everyone deserves to know, but how it is presented is just slapdash and rather tired. Mosh mash interviews that go far too long, with really interesting pieces mentioned in passing and never explored. Elsie deserves a better piece that frames her as a person and...Read full review »

Very interesting podcast.

So much happier than Serial. With Serial, a man is stuck in prison. With Elsie a community lost its innocence when Elsie died. A man was quickly accused but found innocent in a terrifyingly twisted Catch-22 court system where he was tried twice and twice declared innocent. Tune in for the rest...Read full review »

Slow , repetitive and very dull, Bbc please do some research the American stations really are way ahead with styling set up and delivery. The people who listen have better memory's than you think. Don't touch it very bad production.Read full review »

People may well listen to this with the hope of being encapsulated by another gripping true crime podcast. Elsie's story is incredibly sad and it's worth taking the time to hear it, Radio 4's execution of the podcast however is below par due to the extensive 'update' at the...Read full review »

BBC Radio still doesn't quite get podcasts and has a habit of rushing them out without much thought going into the podcast production. I know BBC radio producers who confess the podcast side of things is last on their lists which is why BBC podcasts tend to have a rushed feel. This is an...Read full review »
