Au-sume!
I'm a new listener to your 'cast and love every bit of it. I've been practicing wines since '98 with the help of a foodie/restauranteur and his explanations were dumbed-down for me at that stage. To make a long story short I bought 2 cases of mixed French wines to taste and hold and have been trying to pay attention without the clutter of WS Ratings and RP Points that are so ubiquitous. It's been fun the whole way, from tasting to drinking to assisting others to buying to looking at the wine business... Fun as hell! BTW before I forget, your male counterpart (Mr. Hello Vino) is quite vital to the success of your 'cast, his questions and timing are perfect. As the years go on people ask me for advice and I thought it might be a good topic for you to cast: What are the different ways to begin to learn about wines? Start with France, or grapes of the region, take suggestions from Jancis Robinson's "How to Taste",... Love the show, love the synergy. Aloha from Hawaii. EDIT: Also want to give props to MC Ice; sorry I wrote this when Rick was the counterpart. And Mahalo for shouting out to me on your France episode, my favorite wine country! Open invites to both of you when you're in the islands.Read full review »

I can best describe this podcast as a casual conversation about wine. It is gaining wine knowledge through friends without rigid snobbery.
