Omg 2 hours now the standard length? You guys. Fantastic content, guests, brilliant perspectives and insight. And now the live shows! (How do I explain the meaning of a yaz from wisden signed mini bat to my partner? Cant wait to find out)

Don’t expect the gravitas of Wisden. This basically the teenage version where nothing existed until the last 10 years. Disappointing.

I have listened to a LOT of cricket podcasts, and this is comfortably the best. Fantastic insight and journalism, and very well-rounded coverage. Too many sports podcasts descend into generic waffle and jokes, and stray from the topic, but these guys actually talk seriously about cricket!!...Read full review »

New to the show. Excellent work especially on the dailies during the WC. Had a chuckle when the lads got a tad excited when (we) the Aussies lost a couple of poles quickly yesterday vs Afghanistan. Had a bigger chuckle when we got the chocolates. Good luck in the champions trophy lads if you make...Read full review »

Superb journalism

I love the enthusiasm and passion combined with detailed knowledge. Mark Butcher is as good a broadcast journalist as anyone out there and the bar in cricket is high.

Essential for any cricket fan.

Great point about Ashwin from MB. India not consistent and planning leaves players uncertain. Reminiscent of England in the 1990s for eg. Ashes review thoughtful and insightful. Thanks guys.

My favourite cricketing pod out there. Thanks Wisden

Hello Yas and Podcast team. Great show as always. I’ve listened to the show since before to England exploits of the northern hemisphere summer of 2019 and your collective knowledge and the easygoing nature of the show is a true delight. One slight negative, I dislike football immensely and I...Read full review »

I have been a listener since the start. A great podcast for people who love cricket and all the associated nonsense. Convinced me to subscribe to the magazine as well. Keep it up!

I listen to lots of sports pods but this is my favourite by a mile. All the presenters convey a fantastic passion & knowledge whilst keeping the conversation interesting, opinionated yet a bit irreverent. Every subject discussed is from love for the game. Adding Butch as a bit of star dust...Read full review »

Some people eagerly await the hot new Kendrick or Beyonce record, some camp out to get their hands on the latest Apple device, and some lose their minds for the big Marvel blockbuster that’s been teased for years. But I, and many others, genuinely look forward to the next episode of the Wisden...Read full review »

I like the pod but it would be at least twenty minutes shorter if Phil stopped talking so much.
Tommy Mas via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 11/02/22
Great cricket pod with expert opinion and chat. They also go into wider areas of the game that don’t always get much attention which is very welcomed!

Never disappoints. Knowledgable crew. Entertaining and informative.

Always insightful and thought provoking, a highlight of the week.

Really enjoyable, the team are generally insightful journos with little agenda other than a love for the game. Would love to hear more adventures in club cricket as they had done in the past.

Insufferable host with an even more insufferable voice. Five stars.

Best cricket pod by fast. Always fair and balanced and hugely entertain. But the way Yas dresses is really disconcerting
wrightm73 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 07/28/22
But Yas’s voice is really irritating… he’s a great host but needs to sharpen his voice… its irritating over the radio

Excellent recent pod on the on appointments. I really laughed at the phrase comparing the the past director and coach with the new appointments. Nothing else needed to be said.
cetigne via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 05/23/22
at its best when butcher stops in; at its worst when talking of ‘diversity’. the fellows frequently refer to the ‘county championship’—championship implying the highest standard. but county cricket has always been mediocre: too many matches, too many formats, too many doctored pitches
foundfoundfound via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 04/15/22
I was expecting clear, insightful reporting, however the standard of the podcasters is below average. Lots of uses of “like”, “you know” etc which shows the age range of the guys. Maybe I’ve been spoilt by listening to the likes of Atherton, Hussain, Gower etc but from a respected brand such as...Read full review »

Just signed up to the magazine due to this podcast. Haven’t subscribed to a cricket mag in 15+ years! I love this podcast. Geeky and nostalgic enough, a love of the romance of the game and good common sense as well.
JimmyDizzle999 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 01/20/22
Endless conversations about England. Derisory coverage of anything not involving India-Australia-England. Tedious and narrow.
Owen302 via Apple Podcasts · New Zealand · 01/14/22
Such a great podcast - great analysis and insight into current affairs within the game.
Hmann1994 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 12/02/21
The best cricket podcast by far in its coverage of English cricket’s racism scandal. The beeb and sky have both been cowardly and uncomprehending in comparison. In more general terms, if I had to have only one cricket podcast, this is it. Go Wisden!
ghfohcouvip via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 11/24/21
Hello Wisden, Love the pod and mag, both make my day. I played my first indoor game and won. We batted first and I got about 20 in pairs cricket. But now I’ve got covid and listen to you everyday. For everyone : Who is you’re favourite Aussie player? Dylan Jones(10) Keep up the good work!

Apart from Dobell wallowing in his self righteousness in the last episode , which promptly backfired .

Undoubtedly very ‘woke’ and political, but a great podcast. Would recommend a bit more cricket discussion in lieu of perpetual race based discussion, however, nonetheless, still a fantastic podcast. Yas And Jo, in particular, are great speakers.

More subjectivity from the barmy army
ryansmithaus87 via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 11/11/21
All the guys on the panel know their stuff and always give insightful analysis and good round ups of everything in the cricket world, especially when there’s so much going on.

There are a lot of cricket podcasts, and I enjoy many of them. To my mind, however, there are two that are well clear of the field: Wisden Cricket Weekly and The Final Word. Yas has really grown into the role of host, the regulars are great, and landing Mark Butcher was a fantastic coup. Thanks...Read full review »

If Mark Butcher could cut down the blaspheming then this would be an even better podcast

Great pod apart from that one guy who continually says”like” in every sentence # Vicky pollard 🤡
ernieears via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 08/12/21
Good insight, but it is very annoying when one of the contributors keeps saying “like”.
constanthathair via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 08/10/21
Nothing wrong with the pod, actually very good, but I shall not be following any more due to the muckraking antics of Wisden in the last few days. I have always thought of Wisden as a publication with integrity, clearly I was wrong.
Malham56 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 06/09/21
The group are brilliant and bounce off each other really well. I’ve been a huge England cricket fan for years, but struggled to get into county cricket. Their coverage of the county championship in particular has been super interesting this season and has got me into it. The interviews and...Read full review »

Five stars. Really good insight. Listen on something that is easy to fast forward though for when they chat about women’s cricket.
