A Beautiful Voice Serving Wayward Hollywood History
Karina Longworth, through her narration and use of music and voice actors, delivers an intimate and thoughtful look into various stories of "Hollywood's first century" like the old radio plays used to do. But she manages to do more than just look back on past glories, cutting down to the very personal motives and demons of the people involved and unabashedly seeing issues of racism and sexism for what they are. She runs a wide gambit, from the early silent era stars to superstars of the 1980's (which obviously have more of a personal interest to her), but she manages to make each and every episode a freestanding and memorable one!Read full review »
