I would rather rawdog an 8 hour flight than to listen to any of this drivel. There is no story, nothing interesting happens, in fact nothing at all happens. It’s chaotic, disorganized and just simply nonsensical. Don’t let the first episode fool you, it will lead you to believe there is a...Read full review »

Lost interest once she began into her own story which seemed disorganized. That coupled with the republican commercials every break had me over it by season 4

Fyi not really about a catfish, what is advertised in the caption is not what you get. Some parts are about some guy she dates who lies to her, but mainly a self indulgent story about the narrators life. Her sisters life story is super sad and should be a podcast of its own. I listened to the...Read full review »

Perhaps true crime doesn’t adequately describe the genre of this podcast. Maybe the people that rate it poorly are expecting something even more sinister, alarming and gripping. More instant gratification. I think that speaks volumes about the content we have become so used to consuming without a...Read full review »

thank you for the courage it’s taken to tell this story, with all the pain and cringey-ness. It means we can start telling the unvarnished truths of the shame of being associated with this kind of deeply sick individual. bravo’

The podcast purported to be about one thing (bad experience with dating app) and then completely veered off into something else which was not interesting or why I was listening

I’ve listened to every episode and have not one clue what the purpose of this podcast is supposed to be about. The narrator talks about subjects that we the listener don’t know anything about. For example she references her sister having passed away then in episode 5 they explain that she was...Read full review »

The podcast started out fairly strong, but then just fizzled into rambling. I see where some are talking about the topic of women being resilient, but for me, the story just lacked any real purpose or direction, other than her airing out all of her dirty laundry. Kept listening, hoping that all...Read full review »

Although deception on this scale is hopefully uncommon, many women will (sadly) be able to relate to this story on some level. For anyone that has been deceived and manipulated by someone in this manner, it is not your fault! If you approach the world with honesty, openness and decency, you...Read full review »

I really enjoyed this series, but I find it very interesting that there were so many red flags and all the women just continued on with it. What’s his name, must’ve been a very good-looking guy, otherwise he would’ve been jetted early on. Or maybe he was just good in bed. Anyway I will be looking...Read full review »

A complex tale told in a sensitive way. I like that it didn’t really focus on the a-hole but more how strong, smart women were taken in by him. These jerks abound out there; moral of the story: meet guys only through friends

How do podcasts like this even get produced? It was all downhill after the first episode. Discombobulated, rambling, redundant…

Thanks. I could totally relate to this story, and I didn’t even grow up during online dating. I enjoyed your healing journey.

Learned about this from Family Secrets. I binge listened to this whole season. You are so talented. I am now a huge fan.

This ended up mainly about the narrators childhood and dad chasing her in a jeep I think , ….actually I lost interest in episode 3. Amazing how anyone can just make a podcast about their lives these days. Am sure hers is a worthy story but not what I was looking for.

This podcast started off with a lot of promise, but quickly became a dull story with no substance. This isn’t a true crime story. There’s no crime committed unless a guy lying about himself to a girl he’s dating is a crime. He didn’t steal her money or her identity or really cause her any real...Read full review »

Had to hold back tears a few times. I’ve been there with a man so similar and traits. I still haven’t dated after eight years and was married for 19. What a shame that a person can be so deceitful and lack any kind of… I can’t even find the words.

Where’s the explicit part? I feel like the story didn’t expose the relationship fully, the whys the how’s the what’s. Kind of click bait and could have been better. Aldo don’t get the sister story and why it was relevant.
caterinanowit via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 09/20/24
The stories were good and compelling but I think they should have edited them better to be more cohesive and maybe keep the two topics separate versus swerving in and out. It’s quite sad both stories and she is brave to share.

Hard to pigeon hole this podcast as true crime but despite the label I really enjoyed this podcast. I’m not even sure what the point of this podcast was. She dated a tinder cheater… her sister commuted suicide… her granny died.. her dad is a good guy. What’s the point here?! We all have sad life stories.

Loved the voice, and the premise. The series is lacking information, facts and an arc, kind of lost its way halfway through. Would have been a wonderful autobiography with more details. Clearly the folks that are giving a low rating lack the skill of critical thinking. They make it clear with their written review stating things like “meandering” “what’s this about” & my favorite being “you don’t have a voice for podcasting”😳🤭Seriously? I liked the podcast. Some of you who think this man wasn’t “bad enough” are desensitized. He stole a woman’s job! What the heck? There are a lot of haters on here who would like you to sound better, tell a more linear story, entertain them in a way hat they can barely articulate and I hope you’re not paying much attention because they’ll just find something else: you’ve done very well for a first-timer and your story is...Read full review »
