Not what I expected (but better!)
I came to this podcast expecting to hear Gary and Kole talk in detail about suffering through terrible video games that were selected by their sadistic listeners--like a nightmarish complement to Watch Out for Fireballs or Bonfireside Chat, their other "video game book club" podcasts. There is some of that, but Abject Suffering is 10% suffering, 5% legit insightful critcism, and 85% tangents about buff clowns, gross bodily fluids, and GameFAQs detritus. Almost a compliment podcast to the much more involved "Watch Out For Fireballs" podcasts that Gary and Kole do, this one is smaller and less focused. Abject suffering is a quick dose of bad games from two guys with great chemistry. The format, where listeners submit bad or weird games and the hosts pull a random game to play every week keeps the show fresh and interesting.
