“Jen Kirkman is basically my favorite of everything she does - standup, author, podcaster, human - and as a proud subscriber of her Patreon I always support her many endeavors and celebrate her talents.
But this? It’s almost like it’s too much to take. I’ve suffered from anxiety my whole life but only recently have I begun to work on it. I’m medicated, I’m in therapy, I’m taking the steps I need to keep my anxiety from taking over who I am. This podcast may very well be the final piece to that puzzle - one of my favorite voices, one of my favorite brains, diving deep into a subject I care deeply about that I know she’s passionate about as it’s been central to much of her tremendous body of work.
Jen’s anxiety booklet she gave out last year was the tip of the iceberg that showed me she’s a tremendous resource for this stuff - she speaks on what she knows, relies on experts for what she doesn’t, and delivers it in a way that is funny, insightful, and often with a perspective you can’t find anywhere else.
With this show, Jen tackles anxiety in any way she can with anyone she can. She’s going to throw the book of anxiety at you as a listener and give you everything she has. I’m sure not everything will apply to everyone, and it doesn’t have to. Our journeys with anxiety are always just our own. But Jen is here for us and with us to give listeners a litany of resources I’m sure we all wish we had sooner in life.
