Good concept, tries a bit too hard
There's a lot to like about Arden's core concept: a self-aware take on true crime podcasts with two bickering hosts who point out the tropes of the genre (and the fake socks ad is brilliant). The problem is that oftentimes the humor gets too precious. The rapport between the leads tries too hard to be witty (and it doesn't help that the dialogue is a bit forced). Lost in the ironic detachment is the mystery, which I haven't quite wrapped my head around. There's enough promise to keep me listening.Read full review »

First of all, Tracy Sayed as Brenda Bentley... wow. Second of all, nuff sayed.

Both characters play well against each other. The commercials during the podcast is hilarious.
