A core pillar podcast
I've listened to a LOT of D&D podcasts. Trust me, I love the big hitters like Critical Role and The Adventure Zone (Which i must recommend as well), but it didn't take me long to fall in love with these guys, too. They have a few key aspects really going for them that set them apart. 1) The production quality. The players' vocals are very, CONSISTENTLY clear. The editing is seemless, and there are a ton of additional sound effects added. Things like the clashing of swords, or splashing of water. 2) The world. The players aren't afraid to joke around with each other, and the DM is no exception, but it becomes evident fairly early on that the DM has put a ton of work into the world he's made. It's well thought out and believable - as far as fantasy worlds go :P 3) The chemistry. The players are super comfortable, both with each other and with a microphone. You don't get the sense they're nervous, which is always a hard thing to ignore in an improv setting. Over all, it's a super, super solid show. It's become one of my staples. I highly recommend it! -- Submission for Monthly Contest -- Norman D (refers to himself as Normandy) is a young adult Tiefling. He has tan yellow skin that is rife with teal coloured tattoos. These tattoos are a myriad of symbols and runes, some of which resemble archaic drawings from ancient texts. They are understood by few others than the monks from the Cloud Islands, where he spent the majority of his life. NormanD is a bard, now, but that wasn't always his path. Being raised by monks while pursuing a career of musical prowess, he boasts an odd, audacious style. He still wears his medallion around his neck, and still wears the leather wraps common to monks around his ankles and wrists, but adorns otherwise more modern clothes. He wears a burgundy red overcoat, a run of the mill rapier hangs at his waist, and his ram horms are adorned a few strings of beads. He has an accordion that hangs across his chest similar to how one would wear a one-shoulder travel bag. He also has a conductor's wand tucked into his belt, near the hilt of his sword. He uses it for his more potent magics. While reading the ancient religious texts of the monks, Normandy found writings that matched the symbol on his medallion. These texts described this symbol as the icon of Royce, the Demon UnderLord of the Deep. Normandy believes himself to be the heir to the Underlord's throne, and is currently seeking a way to amass influence in the material plain.Read full review »

Great show. Listen when driving when Cleo fell in the first episode I laughed till I tested up. Then on a distant toll episode when Ep came out the water to save the day I got misty eyed again. A roller coaster of emotions y’all. Keep it up

What can I really say about this podcast but to call it a confluence of mad lads with accents? The crew is all a bunch of bastards, seemingly with the ultimate goal being the drink and a good laugh. I really enjoy listening to see what antics they will get up to, and to experience a more...Read full review »
